Russell Brand and Katy Perry Say IT'S OVER!
I have been waiting to post this blog for about a year now. Now although celebrity weddings have seemed to become a joke over the years, I really did not see this one lasting as long as it did. I mean she dated Travie McCoy for like 3 years, and they didn't get married; then she meets Russell Brand at an event, and suddenly they are engaged and meant to be? Sorry, but I just don't buy into that. I think she was big at the time (still is), and he used her to help his career here in the USA. I said from the very beginning that they were doomed, and as soon as they stopped wearing their rings, I knew it was true, and only a matter of time before it was officially announced. I do hope that they both find happiness elsewhere, and don't let this discourage them in future relationships. And to Katy: If you ever want to kiss a girl and REALLY like it, give me a call ;).

Taylor Lautner is NOT Gay!
Although it would please me to have another big celebrity come out of the closet, this time it just isn't the case. Below is a fake People Magazine cover that has been circulating the internet. Unfortunately for you gay boys out there (and I mean no disrespect), it is 100% FAKE! I am curious now what next week's cover story really is.

Jackie Magazine Vs Rihanna
So, I don't know if Rihanna did something to piss this lady off or what, but a writer for Jackie Magazine wrote a very unflattering article about my favorite Bajan beauty. They not only called her an nword bitch and said her backside was "ghetto", but they also mistakenly stated that she was from Jamaica. The editor took to Facebook to write a less than half ass attempt at an apology, but Rihanna wasn't buying it. In fact, she had this to say as a reply: "I hope u can read english, because your magazine is a poor representation of the evolution of human rights! I find you disrespectful, and rather desperate!! You ran out of legit, civilized information to print! There are 1000′s of Dutch girls who would love to be recognized for their contributions to your country, you could have given them an article. Instead, u paid to print one degrading an entire race! That’s your contribution to this world! To encourage segregation, to mislead the future leaders to act in the past! You put two words together with the intent of abasement, that made no sense…”NIGGA BITCH”?!….Well with all respect, on behalf of my race, here are my two words for you…FUCK YOU!!!” Her reply must've gotten through to their editor because she has resigned from her editorial duties. I am very proud of Rihanna, and very disappointed that someone like that calls themselves a writer. That is a disgrace to the rest of us!
UPDATE: The publisher of the magazine has not only retracted their apology, but has also stated that there was nothing wrong with what was said in the article...WTF

My Top 50 Favorite Songs Of 2011!
50. Taryn Manning - Blast Off
I have always been a fan of Taryn's music, but this song just didn't hit me like the others have. She has been on the list multiple times the past couple of years, and her highest showing was last year at #8.
49. Shanice - Tomorrow
She is my favorite singer, and this is such a beautiful song. Her highest showing was in 2008 at #2
48. Skylar Grey - Invisible
No stranger to fame, but she has changed her name since first entering the spotlight. I really like this song, and it marks her debut!
47. LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem
I hated this song when I first heard it, but it grew on me, and has become a phenomenon. This marks their debut on my lists!
46. Dominic Balli (feat Sonny Sandoval) - American Dream
Although it is not my favorite DB song, this is his first appearance on my Top 50 lists. He is such a talent!
45. Foster The People - Pumped Up Kicks
This is a song that my brother first got me into, and I ended up actually liking it. This may be their debut on my lists, but I am sure they will return someday.
44. Elyse and the Aftermath - Shut Up and Listen
I recently did an interview with Elyse, and I told her this was my favorite song of hers.
43. Girls Nite Out - Too Much Information
This song marks their first time on the lists, but they do appear again higher up. I have DJ Mel to thank for getting me into GNO.
42. Michelle Branch - Loud Music
What can i say about her? She is very talented, and this is her second time on my lists. She also appeared last year in the Top 25!
41. Nickelback - Bottoms Up
This is their only showing this year, and I don't even think its one of their better songs. Their highest has been Top 20.
40. Jason Aldean & Kelly Clarkson - Don't You Wanna Stay
I am not a country fan, but I LOVE Kelly, and I think this is a really great duet. It's Jason's first appearance on my lists, but Kelly has made it on to my Top 50 almost every year since it first started in 2006 (her highest being #1 in 2007).
39. Rihanna - Man Down
Rihanna has had more appearances on my list than anyone else - ever, but she hasn't made it to number 1 yet. She does have 4 appearances this year alone, and I chose this song because of the message.
38. Erika Fatale - That Naive
Speaking of a lot of appearances...Erika is a newcomer to the list this year, and managed to get on here 5 times! She is such a talented singer, and i hope to see more of her in the future.
37. Emphatic - Get Paid
I love rock songs that have a message, but I also just love rock songs that are fun to listen to. These newcomers bring the latter to this list.
36. Evanescence - What You Want
Evanescence made their return to the countdown last year after a 2 year absence, and it is so nice to see them back again this year. Amy Lee is a music God.
35. Stacy Clark - I Know Who I Am
Me and Stacy are friends, but this marks her first time on my Top 50 list (she deserved spots other years too). All her songs have a message, and this is no different - nothing like some feel good music!
34. Rihanna - Cheers (Drink To That)
Surprisingly this is the first Rihanna single that has had to grown on me. I still think its not her best song, but it definitely isnt her worst either.
33. Erika Fatale - Liquid
This is Erika's second song on the countdown this year, and her spot is well deserved.
32. Katy Perry - Last Friday Night (TGIF)
This is yet another song that had to grow on me, but the video definitely sold me on it! Katy is no stranger to my shows, and her highest ranking was Top 5 (I Kissed A Girl) in 2008!
31. Shannon Lee - The Way
You will find yourself dancing and singing along to this aussie's debut on the Top 50.
30. Avril Lavigne - What the Hell
This definitely isnt her best, but like most of her songs, you find yourself singing along. Her highest rank on my countdown has been Top 5 (Girlfriend)
29. Katy Perry (feat Kanye West) - E.T.
I can't stand Kanye West, but I think their collaboration is pretty awesome!
28. Girls Nite Out - Too Young
This is GNO's second time on this year's list (and last). I heard this song, and loved it immediately!
27. Rihanna (feat Calvin Harris) - We Found Love
Her third appearance on the list this year, and I think its a really great song.
26. Erika Fatale - Too Lost In You
Erika has followed Rihanna 3 times in a row on this list, and you don't see either one again until the Top 10! Sure this is a cover, but it is one of the great ones!
25. Enrigue Iglesias ft Usher - Dirty Dancer
"She's a 5 when she drinks, but she's a 10 when she's on top of me" - quite possibly my favorite lyric of the year! Great collaboration!
24. TOY - Ghost
This may be the band's debut, but their lead singer Alana has been on the countdown a few times in the past. Great song, and her highest showing (so far)!
23. Lady Gaga - Edge Of Glory
I wasn't a big fan of this song when I first heard it, but I ended up thinking it was pretty good.
22. Theory of a Deadman - Bitch Came Back
Their last appearance was 2008's "Bad Girlfriend", but this marks their triumphant return!
21. Pia Toscano - This Time
I always seem to become fans of the American idol rejects moreso than the people that won, but its probably because they have so much talent! This beautiful song marks her debut!
20. Jason Derulo - Don't Wanna Go Home
Another song that is catchy, even though it uses a very odd sample that I didn't think would work for this kind of song. His first appearance was "Ridin Solo" in 2010.
19. Alter Bridge - Ghost of Days Gone By
Although their best song will always be their duet with my girl, Cristina Scabbia (Watch Over You), you can't help but like this song.
18. Kelly Clarkson - Mr. Know It All
Kelly's second appearance on this year's list (first time solo). She always appears on my lists at least once.
17. Lady Gaga - Born This Way
Great song with a great message, and this is Gaga's last appearance on this year's list.
16. Jordan Knight - Let's Go Higher
JK has been on my lists multiple times with NKOTB, but this marks his solo debut! I think it is catchy :)
15. Andrea Corr - Tinseltown In The Rain
Andrea's highest showing on my countdowns so far (I miss The Corrs).
14. Maroon 5 ft Christina Aguilera - Moves Like Jagger
Another great collaboration - seems everything Xtina touches turns to gold (except Bionic).
13. Nicole Scherzinger - Don't Hold Your Breath
Nicole's solo debut, but she has been on the list before with PCD or collaborations.
12. Adelitas Way - Sick
This is probably my fave song of theirs, and this marks their return to the countdown (and highest showing to date).
11. Cobra Starship ft Sabi - You Make Me Feel
Me and my friend always get this song in each other's head, and I am sure the same is for you too :)
10. Allstar Weekend - Not Your Birthday
What's not to like? Its about having fun all the time, and not just celebrating once a year. I liked this song from the moment I heard it, and this is their debut!
9. Erika Fatale - Femme Fatale
Everyone knows a Femme Fatale, and that is why it is so high on this list :P - we can all relate, and Erika sings the song perfectly
8. Taryn Manning - Turn It Up
T held steady at #8 this year, and this song is definitely one of her best - I hope it finally puts her up where she should be!
7. Jessie J - Domino
When I first heard this song, I thought: Katy Perry? I was pleasantly surprised that it was Jessie J. This was her debut, and it made it all the way to the Top 10 - not bad!
6. Rihanna - S&M
Rihanna talking about whips and chains exciting her? What's not to like? This is her last appearance on this year's list.
5. Jessie James - Cry Myself To Sleep
She made her debut at #11 last year, and this song brought her up to the Top 5. It is such a beautiful song, and makes me think of someone very special to me.
4. Selena Gomez - Who Says
A self esteem song sung by a hot chick - it's been done before, but not like this. Selena made her debut last year (where she appeared twice), but this is her highest ranking to date.
3. Pitbull feat Ne-Yo - Give Me Everything
This is just one of those songs that make you get up and dance, and there is nothing wrong with that (I always have at least one on my list).
2. Jordin Sparks - I Am Woman
This song was in the Top spot for most of the year, and it actually wasnt until about a month ago (when I was reviewing the list) that it dropped down to number 2. If Jordin had kept her top spot, she wouldve been the first artist on my countdown to make it to number 1 twice!
1. Erika Fatale - Whipped
This song is a song that everyone should listen to, and every female should think of as their theme song. I can't say enough good things about it, and there hasn't been a talent like Erika Fatale since Christina Aguilera!
AJ McLean Ties The Knot!
I must say that as a teenager, he was one of my favorite boybanders, and I had posters of him all over my walls. He has has a rough 5 years, being in and out of rehab, but I am glad to see that it all had a happy ending. He married his longtime girlfriend, Rochelle Karidis, yesterday. All of his bandmates were in attendance (including Kevin), and so was New Kid On The Block, Joey McIntyre! Congrats, AJ!

Britney Spears Gets Engaged!
I know what you are thinking....again? Yes, Britney has been married twice before, but I have a good feeling about this one, and she seems the happiest she has been since "that NSYNC guy". Her boyfriend of more than two years, Jason Trawick, popped the question last night in Las Vegas. Her engagement ring was custom made to be her "dream ring" by Neil Lane. Congrats to the happy couple!

Battleship Update (Trailer #2)
The movie i have been waiting forever for finally has a release date! It will be coming to a theater near all of us on 5/18!
Movie Review: New Years Eve
So all I have heard about this movie since first seeing the trailer many months ago was about how it was a "huge waste of good talent". Well, I wanted to decide for myself, so I went today (opening day). I really enjoyed it! It kind of started off dull, and I started wondering why I had paid all that money, but then it got a lot better. Hilary Swank is the first character we meet, and she begins our movie narration. The movie doesn't end how I was expecting it to at all (I guess that is the whole point of a good movie). Not only does it have an all-star cast that includes Zac Efron, Michelle Pfeiffer, Ashton Kutcher, Lea Michele, Ludacris, Josh Duhamel, Halle Berry, Katherine Heigl, Jessica Biel, Seth Meyers (etc), but it also has many cameos and a lot of surprises. I give this movie a 3 out of 5.

Interview: Elyse & The Aftermath
1. How did you get started in the music industry? Have you been singing since you were a kid?
My first music industry job was an internship in college for Paul Fishkin, who had managed Stevie Nicks and was now managing an artist named Poe. He was a great influence on me and told me to stay true to the artist inside of me.
I have been singing since I was in my crib my parents say, but my first song I ever loved and sang along to was,"The Rainbow Connection".
2. My favorite song of yours is probably "Shut Up And Listen". Out of YOUR songs, what's your fave?
My favorite is a new song from the new yet-to-be-recorded Singles EP called, "Novocaine". You can download the acoustic demo for FREE from our pledge music page: www.pledgemusic.com/projects/elyse
3. How did you come up with the band name?
Well, first of all it comes from our song, "One Photograph" and the line, "One photograph of the aftermath of what became of me." It kinda represents a Phoenix of some kind, but really the band name started as a joke. In '09 we traveled to Austin to play our first SxSw Showcases and our drummer was wearing a wrecking ball T-shirt. We became Elyse and the Texas Wrecking Crew as a joke and then when we got home, I updated my Facebook status "Elyse is the Aftermath of SxSw", and it stuck:)
4. What can we expect to see/hear from you in the next year?
We're recording the new Singles EP in February 2012 and hopefully it will be released by the summer. We have an incredible producer, who can't release his name yet (we're announcing it at our end of the year Winning is GIving Holiday Drive & Show at the World Famous Troubadour on December 12th). We're also planning to shoot a couple of music videos and a Live DVD. There will also be a tour for the new EP and hopefully, depending on when the EP is done, going to SxSw again in March 2012.
5. What do you like to do in your spare time?
Lately, I've been making jewelry in my spare time. I started an Aftermath Collection of necklaces which is loosely tied to the band. They started as part of our pledge campaign (where we raised the money to record our new EP directly through our fans). You can check them out here on the band website: www.elyseandtheaftermath.com/musicmerchandise.cfm
6. What other musicians do you like?
My favorite musicians and bands have to be Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters, Adele, Lady Gaga, Blondie and Fleetwood Mac. They teach me how to become better and tackle this crazy industry of music with a bold sense of self.
As well, I have so many independent musician friends here in LA and surrounding areas who I love like Nina Storey, Josh Damigo, Chris Arena, and of course the girls of Karmina:)
Anything else you would like to tell me would be awesome - Thank you for your time :)
Now that you have this... any other questions that you want to ask????
Thanks Lilly!
