The Biebs Returns to SNL

Justin Bieber has been on the show before as a musical guest; this time he will not only be performing, but hosting as well! The exact date is not known yet, but I am sure every teenage girl in America will be up watching it. Some of the other hosts coming up this season were confirmed by 16 time host, Alec Baldwin. This week's host will be Channing Tatum, and next week brings us Zooey Deschanel !

The X Factor Is Down To Two

Earlier today Steve Jones (X Factor host), and Nicole Scherzinger (X Factor judge) both announced that they would not be returning for season 2. Nicole's reasons were to work on her singing career (we might see that long-awaited solo album yet), and Steve's specific reasons were unclear, but I am guessing it was done with some pushing. I personally don't think the show is missing out from losing either one! I wish them both the best of luck with future endeavors though! Any ideas on who the replacements will be? UPDATE: it has been confirmed now that Paula Abdul will also be leaving the show - 3 people all on the same day, should they just cancel?

Interview: Jeff Timmons

Jeff, if you are reading this, let me just say that my 90s teenager self just swooned

When I had the opportunity to interview Jeff Timmons from 98 Degrees, I definitely jumped at the chance. I really appreciate all his support (he is on my Facebook friends list, and he is also following me on Twitter!)

1. How did you get started in the music industry? Have you been singing/playing music since you were a kid? I started singing at a party with some friends at Kent State University when I was in college. We were trying to impress some girls. I sang all of my life in musicals and choir and stuff, but never took it too seriously.

2. Out of YOUR songs (including 98 Degrees), what's your fave?
Heaven's Missing an Angel is my favorite 98 Degrees tune. Perfectly Imperfect is my favorite solo song.

3. What can we expect to see/hear from you in the next year?
A lot. I'm creating a new show on the strip here in Las Vegas. There are also talks of a reality show, and I've got a ton of new music to get out there.

4. What do you like to do in your spare time? How's family life?
I either do music or hang out with my wife and kids. That completely satisfies me. Love family.

5. What other musicians do you like?
I'm a big Michael Jackson fan. I love Prince, Boyz II Men, and totally dig classic pop/rock bands like Journey, Eagles, Boston, and Foreigner.

6. What was it like working with Chippendales?
I had a blast. Time of my life. The guys are rockstars, and the gig rejuvenated my career.

7. If you could perform with anyone, who would it be?
Of course if Michael Jackson were alive, I'd pick him. I'd love to work with Brian McKnight or Christina, but they are part of a long list!

8. Have you kept in contact with any of your former fellow group members?
Yes, I talk to the guys from time to time.

9. As a member of the LGBT community, I must ask: Are there any other Pride festivals/non-profits you do besides Las Vegas?
I've performed at a few Pride Festivals. They are among the best audiences I've had the pleasure of performing for. I support the community, and would love to do more shows.

10. How do you stay fit?
I really got into shape for the Chipps gig. I lost 22 lbs. I do a combination of HIIT Training, P90x, and very heavy free-weight lifting. I'm glad I took the gig, it forced me to get healthy!

If you would like to contact Jeff, you can find him on his official website, his Facebook Fan Page, or his Twitter.

Ferris Bueller Gets Another Day Off

It's been 26 years since one of the greatest movies of my time has been released, and I thought it was about time that everyone's favorite slacker made his return....good thing the wonderful people at Honda agreed with me! They brought back Matthew Broderick's iconic character for their newest commercial (to be aired during the Super Bowl next week). He plays himself, but it's inspired by FB, and there are over a dozen references to the movie in the 2 minute commercial. (Above is the extended version). Bueller...? Bueller....?

Former Disney Star Charged With DUI

You might remember Ryan Merriman from such Disney Movies as "Smart House", and "The Luck Of The Irish", but he was also in "Final Destination 3". Most recently he was seen in "Pretty Little Liars" on ABC Family. Anyway, he got arrested for a DUI back in November, and now he has been officially charged. He isn't the first former Disney star to slip up, and I am sure he won't be the last. I will keep you updated!

MTV's The Challenge: Battle of the Exes

I realize that I am about a week late with this post, and I apologize, but here are my current thoughts on the season: I am rooting for Cara Maria and Abram, and I am going to stay true to that decision because I am a very loyal person. If they were not on the show, I would probably be rooting for Mark and Robin (I still LOVE Johnny, but I am not a Camila fan at ALL). I also like Rachel, and I do want the only all girls team to do really well too. In a dream sequence, those three teams would be the top 3 at the end of the season. The Challenge is one of the only shows I watch on TV anymore, and judging from the first episode, it's not going to disappoint me this season (it never does, but you never know). The only thing missing this season (besides Jenn, who "retired") is Kenny, but I think he wasn't able to go because of the allegations from Tonya (check previous blog).

New Couple Alert

While talking to People Magazine about his recovery from his accident earlier this month, Jason Derulo also confirmed that he is in a relationship with Jordin Sparks. There is no word yet on how long they have been together exactly, but it has been since last year. He also said that she has taken care of him. I personally think they are really cute together, and I am happy for both of them. I am also happy that he was able to recover after his near death experience.

Thank you to People for the pic :)

Demi Lovato Is NOT Back In Rehab

As usual, one false story made waves earlier, and other sites just picked it up without checking facts or sources. She has had a rough few years, and she is not in another rehabilitation facility, nor is she heading to one in the future. I am so glad that she is doing better, and has turned her life around :). (I got confirmation before posting this story - I don't post things just for the hell of it).

Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection

In case you haven't heard yet, Katy Perry is releasing her smash album, "Teenage Dream" on March 13th! It will include tracks that didn't make the first cut of the album (including some "featured artist" songs), a duet with Rihanna, and a few other surprises. It might even spawn a record breaking 6th number one single! This also gives me another chance to buy it. Katy Perry started off as a Christian singer, but she really hit it big when her "controversial" single "I Kissed A Girl" hit the radio, and she has been unstoppable ever since!

Super Bowl XLVI Match-Up

The moment we have waiting for all season long is finally here - we know who is going to the Super Bowl! The Ravens were stomped by the Patriots earlier today, and the Giants beat the 49ers in an exciting overtime. The two teams will now play in Indianapolis (Lucas Oil Stadium - home of The Colts) on February 5th. If you haven't noticed yet, this will be a rematch of the Super Bowl in 2008 - should be a good game. I am hoping that the Patriots can take home the win this year. This game will also feature Kelly Clarkson singing the National Anthem, Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert singing "America The Beautiful", and a half time show by Madonna. Add all that, and the world famous commercials, and you have plenty of entertainment for even the non football fan!

Chicago Bear and MTV Star Are Expecting!

Chicago Bears Quarterback Jay Cutler, and former The Hills/Laguna Beach star Kristin Cavallari are expecting their first child! You may remember that they got engaged last April and then had a short break up over the summer. They had this to say about the big news: "We are thrilled to announce we are expecting our first child together. It's an amazing time in our life and we can't wait to meet the new addition to our growing family." There is no word yet on how far along she is in the pregnancy, but it looks like they will have a new Bears fan in time for the 2012 football season! I am so happy about this news. I am not a Bears fan, but I love Kristin (have since LB Days), and I think they are a great couple!

The Most Shocking Break-up Of The Past 5 Years

In a surprising turn of events, multiple sites are reporting that supermodel, Heidi Klum, and singer Seal are divorcing. Heidi is going to file the papers next week. The couple has been married since May 2005, and have 4 children. I really thought they were going to make it - they seemed so happy, and they even renewed their vows every year. I have to say that this is probably the most shocking divorce news since Reese and Ryan, or Jessica & Nick. They have been having trouble for at least a few months because when TMZ interviewed them back in October and asked what the key was to a successful marriage, they never gave them an answer. The last public appearance of them together was the day after Christmas, and Klum went to the GGs alone. I am very sad about this news, but I hope they can find happiness later on.

UPDATE: They issued this statement to Gossip Cop: “While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul-searching we have decided to separate. We have had the deepest respect for one another throughout our relationship and continue to love each other very much, but we have grown apart. This is an amicable process and protecting the well-being of our children remains our top priority, especially during this time of transition. We thank our family, friends, and fans for their kind words of support. And for our children’s sake, we appreciate you respecting our privacy.”

Hot In Cleveland (Part 2)

Jennifer Love Hewitt makes a return trip to the hit TV Land show this coming Wednesday (January 25th). She made her first appearance last year as Wendie Malick's character's daughter, Emmy. She returns this time with a fiance (played by Joe Jonas). Set your Tivos for 10pm (check your local listings)!

Some Of My Favorite Singers

Nick Lachey - he still stands as the only male on my favorites list, but he definitely deserves his spot:

Jessica Simpson - coincidentally, his ex-wife also made the list. I don't like her as much as I used to (singing wise), but she used to be quite awesome (and still has a special place in my heart):

Rihanna - total hottie and can sing? Sign me up! I also just love her accent :):

Kelly Clarkson - the original "American Idol", and I also just love that she is herself:

Jennifer Love Hewitt - Yep, she made this list too :) (she has been my idol since i was 11):

Christina Aguilera - probably the most talented voice of my generation, and I have been a fan since MMC days:

Shanice - she has been my favorite singer since I was a kid, and I even got to meet her at 15:

Just like the blog before it (the bands), these aren't in order either.

Etta James Passes Away

I am very sad to report that music legend (and role model/inspiration to many of today's biggest stars), Etta James, has passed away. She died from complications from leukemia, which she has had since 2010. Her biggest hit "At Last" has been played at many many weddings, and her songs have been covered by artists such as Christina Aguilera and Beyonce (Bey also played her in the movie, Cadillac Records). She is survived by her husband of over 40 years, and their two sons. Her manager had this to say: “This is a tremendous loss for the family, her friends and fans around the world. She was a true original who could sing it all – her music defied category.” - Lupe De Leon. James was 73 years old.

Resident Evil: Retribution (Official Trailer)

The movie doesn't come to theaters until September 14th, but some people have waited a long time for this:

Pop Salad

There is a hot new game right now, and I should warn you right now that it is very addicting! The name of the game is Pop Salad, and you buy and sell celebrities (kinda like stock). You can find the game here. If you do end up playing, look me up under "LillyTHF"

Some Of My Favorite Bands

Lacuna Coil - I have been a fan since I first heard songs from the Comalies album, and I will be going to see them in concert next month!

The Corrs - I have been a fan since I first heard "Breathless" :)

TLC - I have absolutely loved them since their first album, and they are the best female group - ever! My favorite member is T-Boz.

Boomkat - I think everyone already knows that I am a Taryn Manning fan, so this one is a no brainer!

New Kids On The Block - they are the ones that started it all (my love and appreciation for music), and I still love them to this day!

Collective Soul - quite possibly my fave rock band of the 90s

None of these are in order, and I will do another blog at a later date that features my favorite singers

MegaUpload Shutdown

I can't call myself a DJ, and not write about this story that is making headlines. Despite SOPA not even being passed yet (and hopefully, it doesn't get passed at all), the federal government is already shutting down sites that offer free downloads of media files. Their first victim was MegaUpload. For those not familiar, MegaUpload was a site where users could share large files like songs, videos, and games. It also happens to be run by Alicia Keys husband/producer, Swiss Beatz. Some of the executives have been arrested, but he has managed to keep himself out of trouble (so far). I am not going to sit here and promote downloading free music, but i think we all know that people do it.

For more info on SOPA (and how to stop it), go here or here

The 2Gether Reunion

After having chatter about it since November, it is finally official!

The parody boy band that MTV created in 2000 (that started in a movie, but ended up with 2 albums and a tv show) is making a comeback...as a foursome obviously. The 4 remaining members (Michael Cuccione passed away in 2001 after a long battle with cancer): Alex Solowitz (Mickey), Noah Bastian (Chad), Kevin Farley (Doug), and Evan Farmer (Jerry) have returned and are ready for the spotlight again. It has been said that they are making a mock documentary to show the story of how they reunited, and a new song is also on its way too. I can't wait! I have both of their albums, and I even own the (now hard to find) movie! You can catch up with the remaining members on Facebook and Twitter, or you can see Evan on CMT's Video Countdown! UPDATE: MTV gave them the go ahead to film the show, so hopefully it will end up being aired in the near future!

The Next "Bachelorette" Has Officially Been Announced

I would first like to say that I don't even know why these two shows are still even on the air. The only successful relationship that has come from them in all these years has been Trista and Ryan. I guess it is just a guilty pleasure for some people. I would watch the shows if more successful relationships actually came from them.

Anyway, it was announced today that the next "Bachelorette" will be Emily Maynard (didn't see that coming - sarcasm). I do give ABC props though because she is probably the most attractive one they have had in awhile. This season will take place in her hometown of Charlotte, rather than Los Angeles, and they are set to start filming in March.

LL Cool J Ready To Host Music's Biggest Night

LL Cool J has been announced as this year's Grammy host. The show hasn't had a host in 7 years, so this is a big deal. If you forgot who the nominees are, you can find them here. The show will air on February 12th!

Brody & Avril Called It Quits

I was going to wait to hear from Brody about this one, but multiple reports are enough for me:

Brody Jenner and Avril Lavigne have broken up after nearly 2 years of dating. Some people saw the relationship as doomed from the start, but I had hope from the very beginning. I think Brody is a pretty cool guy, and they seemed happy, so that is all that should matter. You might remember them getting matching tattoos when they first got together (each other's names). If I do hear back from Brody, I will be sure to update you - I promise! I hope both of them find happiness elsewhere (although a reconciliation would be nice too).

UPDATE: Brody tweeted this earlier tonight: It really upsets me to read all the FALSE!! stories. Avril has always been there for me and is the closest person to my heart. I love her. Avril tweeted back that she loved him too - aww!

Miss Wisconsin Is Crowned As Miss America 2012!

Laura Kaeppeler is the new Miss America. She won the pageant crown, and the $50,000 prize. When asked whether pageant contestants should share their political beliefs, she had this to say: "Miss America represents everyone, so I think the message to political candidates is that they represent everyone as well. In these economic times, we need to be looking forward to what America needs, and I think Miss America needs to represent all.” Miss Oklahoma, Betty Thompson, was second, and Miss New York, Kaitlyn Monte, came in third. Her plans for her time with the crown are to mentor kids whose parents are in jail because her own father was in prison for 18 months due to mail fraud. Congratulations to her!
