Cheesa Goes Home? WHAT?

Honestly, I wasn't a fan during her blind audition, but I became one after her first live round performance! I thought she gave outstanding performances the past 2 live shows, and she still got the bottom two both times. I have to wonder what is wrong with America? (More than I originally thought, obviously).

Top 5 Boy Bands

I tried to make as fair of a list as I could, so even my love for Nick Lachey, and my friendship with Jeff Timmons didn't make for a biased opinion. Boy bands started it all for me!
In honor of MTV's "Battle of the Boy Bands", I decided to make a list of my own:
1. New Kids On The Block
They were the very first album I ever owned, and sparked my initial interest in music! I own all their albums (still to this day), and I think my favorite might be "Step by Step". I was totally "in love" with Joey back in the day! I never did get to see them in concert though :(. EDIT: I finally saw them in 2013!
2. *NSYNC
Although when they came out I was a huge BSB fan, I still managed to find room in my heart for this new group - who knew that that love would grow into something so spectacular! I had posters of them all over my room for a few years, and I even went to see them in concert during the height of their popularity. My favorite member was JC (Mickey Mouse Club, hello!), and my favorite album was probably "No Strings Attached" (unless you count the Holiday album).
3. 98 Degrees
This is probably the least shocking choice on this list (see above reason). I loved them from day one! I remember buying their album before they were even really known, and I bought every album thereafter! To this day I still love their music, and the guys that sang it (shout-out to Jeff). I love all their albums equally, but my favorite song is probably "Because of You', and my favorite music video is "My Everything" (Jessica Simpson)!
 4. Backstreet Boys
Restored my love for pop music, and their first album is still one of my faves - ever. My favorites were AJ and Brian, and even though I think their newer albums aren't as good, they will always be a part of pop music history. My friends and I were even going to perform "Everybody" for a talent show our senior year of High School. I remember watching their music videos for hours on end.
 5. 2Gether
Known as the parody boy band, but I think the funniest part was that they were actually GOOD. I loved the movie, and I own both of the albums, and I am very excited about the reunion! I love "Chad" and "Mickey"!

G.I. Joe: Retaliation (Official Trailer #2)

The movie will be released to theaters on June 29th - I loved the first one, but I am not expecting much from this sequel!

The Five-Year Engagement (Red-Band Trailer)

After seeing previews of it at every movie I have gone to in the past 6 months, I am glad that it finally opens on Friday:

Exclusive: Erika and Jeff Duet!

This news story is a Dream Chaser exclusive!

Two of my friends, Erika Fatale and Jeff Timmons (98 Degrees) announced on Twitter that they are interested in doing a duet together! I originally gave them the idea, but Jeff tweeted Erika in response and said he liked her voice and would send her some tracks! Just think, I was the mastermind behind this brilliant idea! LOL I will keep you updated with further details, and I will even premiere the song!

Movie Review: The Lucky One

I am a sucker for a good love story. I have wanted to see this movie since I first heard about it last summer, and it didn't disappoint. I will be completely honest, I never read the book (I usually do my research), but I thought the movie was superb and my mom (who reads all of Nicholas Sparks' books) said it followed with the story nicely. For those of you that are lost, it is about a Marine named Logan who finds a picture of a beautiful woman in the middle of a war zone, and it brings him luck. The movie stars Zac Efron, Taylor Schilling, and Blythe Danner. This movie has probably climbed onto the chart of my fave "Nicholas Sparks movies", and I give it a 3.5 out of 5!

A Jordis Unga Tribute

She definitely wowed us from day one, but 2 weeks ago (after giving the best performance of the night) she faced a shocking fate: America DIDN'T vote her in! She sure showed the nay sayers with her "last chance performance" and was saved by Blake. This week she gave yet another stellar performance, and Blake sent her home. Even though I am Team Lindsey all the way, Jordis was a huge threat to all the contestants (Whitney even confirmed it in her interview):

Milli Vanilli: Trend Setters?

That's what Fab said! TMZ caught up to the former faker recently, and he had this to say:

"There is no difference between what I did back then and what people are doing now. If you wanna break it down, people might say, 'Well you didn't sing' ... but the fact of the matter is ... now the machines are doing it. I ain't pointing the finger, but if you're doing all this and you're not performing the song live ... then you're not doing anything different from what I did."

I hate to say it, but he does have a point. Auto-tune is killing real music, and the talented musicians behind it...Maybe MV were just ahead of their time.

Brangelina Engagement - Everyone Okay With It

You may remember back in 2008 how they said they would not get married until EVERYONE had the right to do so, and they even went as far as publicly opposing California's Prop 8.... Well, it seems that a lot has changed in the past 4 years, and apparently nobody cares. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie announced their engagement on Friday after being together 7 years and having 3 children together, and Equality California has voiced their support:

"Marriage is something that says ‘we're a family’ in a way that nothing else can ... No one has to deny that for themselves or their family to prove they are an ally and supporter of equality."

Although I am happy for them, and think they are truly great together, I am not as supportive - some of us still can't marry the person that we love. You either support it or you don't - there's no halfway.

98 Degrees Reunion Update

Despite the rumors, there WILL still be a reunion tour, it just won't be this summer (as originally planned). Nick Lachey started a frenzy earlier today when he tweeted that the only tour he was going on was to babies r us (his wife is pregnant and due this summer), but what he didn't say is that the summer tour is only postponed, and not cancelled. How do I know this, you ask? Well, Jeff Timmons himself told me! Stay tuned for updates!

Jennifer Love Hewitt Surprised By New Ad....Featuring Herself

It was clearly altered to make her well-known breasts appear much smaller (such a shame to mankind):

"The Client List" star had this to say about it:

"Somebody sent me a copy of the photograph, and I was like, 'Um, what happened?' I'm not quite sure what's going on, but apparently somebody wanted me to have a boob reduction. The thing that's even crazier is that usually when they do that stuff, I had to see the photograph before they went out anywhere, and I never saw a new version of it."

MTV Star Says "It Really Does Get Better"

"RJ Berger"'s Paul Iacono is coming out of the closet, and wants young people to know that they are not alone. He released the following statement:

“I tried coming out a couple of times as a kid, from 13-14 on, and was always squashed on. I went to the Professional Performing Arts school in Manhattan. My father found an email correspondence of me planning a date with another male student, very innocent. I had to deny it. I was just coming to terms with the fact that I was bisexual, which culturally I do identify with as a gay man — I am attracted to girls, I’m just attracted to guys much more. My father quickly stomped that. He wanted to pull me from the school. I had to feign heterosexuality for a couple of years. It messed with my head. It took me a longer time to be OK with it. It was not until I was 18 that I came out with my mom and 20 with my dad.”

Paul also said that he wants to be a role model. You can catch him on the new MTV show, “Kenzie’s Scale".

You can still find her videos on YouTube, and her singles on ITunes, but you will no longer be able to watch her weekly on NBC. I used all of my votes on her, so I am especially sad to see her leave.

Lindsey Pavao - Somebody I Used To Know (The Voice)

Let's just say that I am glad she made it through to the next round based on votes:

Tony Lucca - In Your Eyes (The Voice)

He took a chance with covering Peter Gabriel, and I think it was a BAD decision (I voted for him anyway because he is one of my favorites).

Interview: Whitney Myer (From "The Voice")

Since I got called a friend of hers on Facebook and Twitter, it only made sense to finally post the interview! Here is what April's Featured Artist had to say:

1. There is no doubt that you are going to be a star, but how long have you been singing as an indie artist?
I've been singing with my band, the Whitney Myer Band for 2 1/2 years, and during that time we've released a full length album under our own label as well as a single that is receiving airplay. Basically, we've worked our butts off lol.

 2. You had all 4 judges turn their chairs around during your audition, what was your first thought and how excited were you?
I was absolutely elated. I've never felt so much adrenaline and serotonin in my body at one time. I couldn't believe it, truly. I was hoping for just one chair and to have all 4 turn was a true blessing and a humbling feeling. I love all of the coaches as musicians and I was very, very flattered.

3. Who did you feel was your biggest competition on the show?
I would have said Mathai, because sometimes we have similar phrasing and styles, though we differ in other ways too. Or maybe Jordis, cause she can belt it out.

 4. Who were you closest to from the show?
LINDSEY PAVAO is my most precious bud and bromance participant :)

5. What was it like meeting Alanis Morissette?
It was amazing! She is such a ray of light and very honest and genuine. I really dug her and can't believe I got to meet her.

6.  What is your favorite song - ever? What is your favorite song to cover?
I feel like my favorite song 'ever' constantly changes. Right now, mine is "Perfect Darkness" by Fink. My favorite song to cover is "Man's World" by James Brown!

7. So you have a new album out, right? Tell me more about that.
Yes we have an album that we released in 2010 titled, "Dream Killer" and a new single we just released in February titled, "Broken". Our album is a cd of all originals save for one cover of Montel Jordan's "This is how we do it". I played guitar and piano on a few of the tracks as well. the idea "Dream Killer" related to the fact that we can sometimes be our own enemies, by feeling passionate about our dreams, but not going after them for fear of failing, or always saying things like, "Someday, I'll go to Europe" but you don't commit and never actually get there. It's about recognizing that we can foil our own plans and dreams and working through that.

8. When are you coming to New Mexico so I can see you perform? :)
I wish it was soon! We actually drove through NM on our way to SXSW in Texas last month. I know that we are working on some big regional tour plans, and I know I'll keep it in mind! We post all of our tour dates on our website.

9. I submitted your music to Hit Predictor and it got put in the jukebox, how exciting is that? The whole world had the chance to hear your music and tell record companies if it was good or not!
That is really, really cool! Thanks for doing that, those kind of things help more than you can imagine!

10. I have major stage fright, do you have any advice?
Yes. Practice, a lot. That way if you're worried you'll be nervous and mess up, you'll fall back on your muscle memory. (Yes, singing uses certain muscles lol). Also, start out small, like open mics and such and test yourself, and work your way to the bigger stuff!

11. What do you like to do in your spare time?
I like to read and jog and write songs. I also like seeing local, live music and going to hot springs with my best buds. There are a few really cool natural ones near my hometown.

12. If you could perform with any famous person, who would it be and why?
Janelle Monae, Sia, or Jessie J : ) They inspire me as vocalists, as well as women and writers. I identify with a lot of the messages in their songs and that is what music is really all about.

March's Featured Artist and April's Featured Artist Performing Together!

Quite possibly my two favorites from this season of "The Voice": Stay tuned for those interviews!

Amanda Bynes Busted For DUI

She is sooooooo NOT the man anymore!

She was arrested in West Hollywood Thursday night and is still in custody (more details will come as I get them). This isn't her first run in with the cops, just a month ago she was pulled over for talking on her cell phone and sped away.

LC Graces The Cover of Glamour's May Issue - Topless

I never thought that Lauren Conrad would ever go topless for a magazine (especially after all she has said about it in the past), but I think she did it in a very classy way and it looks great!
